This class introduces the basics of brewing and explains how recipe, grind size, and brew time all influence the quality of final cup. Students will brew, taste, and discuss as they are led through the essential techniques and best practices for pourover brewing. Students also take home 6 oz. of New Harvest Coffee and their own Bee House ceramic coffee dripper! This class is appropriate for both professional baristas and home enthusiasts.   This is a hands-on, interactive class.

Understanding Your Machines (Professional Training)

This two-hour intensive class deconstructs coffee brewing and grinding equipment, including dual-boiler and heat exchanger espresso machines, espresso and bulk grinders, and automatic batch brewers. Understanding Your Machines is an introductory course, so no prior experience is necessary. Students should expect to leave with an understanding of how this equipment works, an ability to identify crucial parts, and how to diagnose common problems. Prerequisites: none
