Jorge Monge is the proud 3rd generation owner of the “Las Palomas” farm. His brother Carlos owns the adjacent farm, “El Alto”. Initially, both farms were producing specialty coffee under one name, “El Alto Las Palomas”, however upon the passing of their father, the farm was split in two. The brothers have enjoyed great success over the years in producing top quality Caturra & Catuai varieties that have finished at the top of many international cupping competitions. The farm resides in the Tarbaca province of Tarrazu at approximately 6,000 feet with the perfect balance of sun & shade. Jorge & Carlos are quite content to alternate the title of best cupping coffee year in and year out. You can say that they have a very friendly spirit of competition on their farms that also translates on the soccer field!
The coffee is fully washed and patio sun-dried.
