New Harvest Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee roaster based in the Farm
Fresh Market Hall on Sims Ave in Providence. Since 2001, we have been dedicated to
sourcing coffee sustainably and being a leader in creating a vital and creative beverage
culture in Rhode Island. We have a small, dedicated team of hard-working folks who
take pride in their work. We are also dedicated to paying a living wage to all of our
employees and encouraging life-work balance.
We are looking for someone to join the Roastery team who is both adept at
production tasks and customer service, who is organized and conscientious. The right
candidate will help our production team with every aspect of getting our freshly roasted
coffee to our wholesale and online customers.
This is not an entry level position, and candidates must have prior work
experience in a related field. Specific experience in coffee is not required, but a
background in coffee or food/beverage manufacturing is desirable. The ideal candidate
works quickly with a sense of urgency and is mature with a strong work ethic and can
move seamlessly from one task to another. The work schedule is Monday through
Friday and it is a full time (40 hours) position. Our production department is open from
7am until 4pm on weekdays.

Production Department responsibilities:
● Produces all packaging materials for daily shipments, including labeling of bags
and boxes.
● Filling all types of coffee orders, wholesale, mail order, grocery
● Working with fellow team members to ensure that all orders are filled, packed
and shipped in an accurate and efficient manner.
● Communicating with the Production Manager any inventory shortages, errors or
safety concerns.

● Other projects as necessary, to help the department be successful
● Perform daily/weekly/monthly cleaning and organization activities.
● Perform deliveries using company vans in an efficient and safe manner.
● At all times provide friendly, respectful, knowledgeable and efficient customer
service.
● Transition efficiently from completing one task to starting another; if unsure what
task to tackle next, check with the Production Manager.
● If unsure about how to take or complete an order, seek out a manager’s input. To
ensure a consistent and high- quality product and customer service system, seek
advice, do not just “wing-it” if uncertain how to proceed.
● Anything else as requested by manager or owner to complete
daily/weekly/monthly goals
● Market prep on Fridays: take responsibility for brewing, organizing and packing
up for the Hope Street Market.
The starting pay is $20 per hour on a salary basis. Benefits include:
● Two weeks paid vacation per year, three weeks paid vacation starting your
second year of employment.

Job Requirements
● Mature, strong work ethic required – This is not an entry level position
● Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
● Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs several times throughout the day. Hand trucks provided
for delivery of orders larger than 50lbs.
● Comfortable driving and parallel parking a cargo van in and around Providence.
● Be self-directed when needed but comfortable taking direction and asking
questions.

● Communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors and customers.
30 Day Goals
This job requires a probationary period. The following list of goals must be
accomplished within 30 days of being hired.

All resources necessary to accomplish these goals will be made available. If the
following goals are not accomplished, a permanent position will not be offered.
● Punctuality is required
● Become familiar with all aspects of order fulfillment within the Production
Department. Speed is not expected right off the bat but building knowledge and
retention of production department policies and procedures is required.
● Become familiar with each coffee we sell and be able to make recommendations
for customers.
● Become familiar with the company structure, policies and personnel.
● Be a team player and show an effort to work quickly, accurately and diligently
