What You Need
  • Aeropress
  • Aeropress Filter
  • Gram Scale
  • Timer
  • Serving Vessel

 Step 1

Step 2

  1. Unscrew the filter basket from the AeroPress and place a paper filter in the basket.
  2. Pre-wet your filter with hot water to wash out the filter’s paper taste and warm the brewing equipment. Discard water after use.

Step 3

  1. Place your AeroPress (without the plunger) on a mug or other serving vessel. Place both on the scale and tare to 0.
  2. Put your freshly ground coffee into the AeroPress. Shake the brewer gently to settle the coffee grounds.

Step 4

  1. Confirm that your dose is correct then tare the scale to 0 again.
  2. Vigorously add all your water, wetting all the coffee grounds.

Step 5

Insert the plunger at an angle in the brew chamber, and pull the plunger up straight. This seal will create a vacuum and cause the brewing water to remain in the chamber. Do not plunge yet! Start your timer and wait 2 minutes.

Step 6

  1. At 2 minutes, gently swirl the Aeropress and mug to break the crust.
  2. Wait 30 seconds, then remove the setup from the scale. Steadily press the plunger to push the brewed coffee out of the brew chamber.

Step 7

After you have pushed out the entire brew, unscrew the basket and discard the puck. Stir your brew before you sip and enjoy!
